I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The charming location in the historic area was the highlight, and the staff were very accommodating. However, the rooms were quite cold and in need of maintenance, and the dining experience was lackluster. Additionally, security could be improved, making it feel less safe at times.
The room was quite outdated and didn't have adequate heating. It felt more like a cell than a cozy hotel room.
The staff were very accommodating, helping me out with my requests and transportation.
The hotel is in a fantastic location in the historic district, making it easy to explore the area.
The breakfast was basic but okay, served in a cold cafe nearby without much choice.
While the charm of the hotel is appealing, the overall facilities need a lot of work. They seemed quite run down.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. On one hand, the history and character of the place are charming, and the location is unbeatable, just a stone's throw from the main plaza. On the other hand, the accommodations were quite outdated, and my room was a bit of a letdown with no windows and an outdated bathroom. The service was helpful, and the breakfast was enjoyable, but there were definitely some aspects that need improvement.
The room I stayed in had an old-fashioned design, with two twin beds but no windows, making it quite stuffy. The bathroom could use some serious updates.
The staff were dedicated and helped with all my requests, which made my stay a bit easier despite the room issues.
The hotel is right in the heart of the historic old city, just a short walk to all major attractions, which was incredibly convenient.
Breakfast was included and quite nice, featuring tasty options that helped start the day on a good note. The dining atmosphere added to the experience.
While the outdoor patio on the third floor had a great view, overall, the facilities felt a bit neglected and could use some sprucing up.

This boutique hotel in the historic area of Quito is a charming gem with a lot of character. The rooms are spacious and offer a unique old-world feel, though some might find the lack of modern design a bit outdated. The location is fantastic, right next to the Iglesia de San Francisco, making it easy to explore the old town. The staff goes above and beyond to assist with various requests, which greatly enhances the experience. However, the dining options could be improved as breakfast is fairly simple and there are limited restaurant choices nearby.
The rooms are spacious and comfy, but they do carry an outdated design. We didn't have a window in our room, which felt a bit utilitarian.
The service was exceptional; the staff helped with everything we needed and arranged for our airport transfer seamlessly.
The hotel is situated right in the center of the historic district, just a short walk from major attractions, which is incredibly convenient for sightseeing.
Breakfast was straightforward but tasty, featuring local fruits and eggs to order. However, I wish there were more options available.
The hotel features a lovely courtyard that provides a unique setting to meet other travelers, but it lacks a business center or additional amenities.

We had a wonderful stay at this boutique hotel in the heart of the historic area. The building was stunning with so much character, and the family running it made us feel incredibly welcome. While the noise levels were a bit bothersome at night, the overall experience was lovely, especially the delicious breakfasts. The location made it easy to explore the charming surroundings, but be prepared for some outside noise if you're a light sleeper.
Our room was clean and had an old-world charm, although it did get a bit noisy at night.
The owners and staff were very accommodating and attentive to our needs; they truly enhanced our experience.
The hotel is perfectly situated in the historic center, just a short walk from key attractions like the San Francisco church, making it convenient for sightseeing.
Breakfast was a highlight, with a lovely selection of local fruits, eggs, and pastries served in a charming atmosphere.
While the hotel's age added to its charm, it lacks modern amenities like an elevator, which might be an issue for some.

Staying at the Hotel Boutique Portal de Cantuna was a delightful experience, set in a charming old mansion in the heart of the city. The rooms offered a cozy retreat, complete with a comfortable bed, though they showcased the beauty of historic decor rather than modern furnishings. The location was fantastic, within walking distance to major attractions and restaurants, which added to the convenience. Enjoying breakfast in the lovely dining area was a nice touch, though a bit basic. Overall, the hotel offers great value, but don't expect contemporary amenities.
The rooms were full of character and very comfortable, with thick walls that kept things quiet and a window providing a lovely view of the old town.
The staff were exceptionally helpful, assisting with directions and transportation, making every request feel like a priority.
Perfectly located near the historic Plaza de San Francisco, everything was easily accessible by foot, and I always felt safe strolling around.
Breakfast was a simple affair with fruit, eggs, bread, and coffee; it was enough to kickstart my day, although I hoped for more variety.
The facilities were quaint and charming, keeping the historic ambiance, but don't expect modern amenities.
